Why do you multiply the money factor by 2400 when calculating a lease?

You actually don't use the 2400 when calculating a lease. You would multiply the Money-Factor by 2400 in order to find the "implied" interest rate. for example: money-factor= .00345 .00345 x 2400 = 8.28 APR Here is a good description of how to calculate a car lease.
